Cashew Cream Sauce – Simple and Delicious!
I have been experimenting with a lot of Vegan recipes lately because my daughter Laila has wanted to start incorporating this in her healthier choices in her diet. Laila has a dairy intolerance anyway so this was a choice she wanted to make and I was happy to help her find recipe ideas that are delicious and that won’t upset her tummy. :) There are a lot of recipes out there for sauces with nuts and I have made some in the past, but this recipe is so easy and versatile. You can make this recipe and store it in the refrigerator for a few days and use it by itself, of mix it with marinara sauce, pesto, sauces made with squash etc. Here is how you make it:
About 2 cups cashews – soak in water for 2 hours
1 clove garlic
salt and pepper
1 cup of water – then add more as needed
Blender or food processor
After you soak the cashews for 2 hours, simply rinse them and place in the food processor. Next, add the salt and pepper, garlic clove and water and pulse until smooth. At this point start adding more water until you get the consistency you like . I hope this post has inspired you to try this sauce and get creative with how you use it! Please comment and let me know what you made. :)
