Happy Friday Everyone!!! Okay so with the holidays around the corner I decided to get creative with some Halloween cookie cutters!
I wanted to use them for savory things instead of sweet things for now anyway :) and I got these ones at Michael’s craft store.
Here is what I did:
I made tortilla chips out of sun-dried tomato wraps because they were orange ( they do lose some of the orange color once baked but they still looked cute) So all I did was cut them out with the pumpkin cookie cutter place them on a baking sheet lined with foil and sprayed with cooking spray and then sprayed them on the top once they were on there as well. Then lightly sprinkled them with some salt and baked them at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes and they were delicious! I dipped them in some pumpkin hummus I made ( stayed tuned for that recipe under appetizers ) but my daughter dipped them in salsa and they are perfect for a holiday party!!

The second thing I made was sourdough crostini’s and these were may favorite!!! Again, I used halloween cookie cutters but this time I used a witch’s hat and a bat and they were so perfect for these. I used sourdough bread and cut out the shapes and then did the same thing but used olive oil and and herbs this time. I put oil on the foil ( that rhymed -hahahaha ) and then sprinkled salt, pepper and some dried italian seasoning on top and then drizzled some more extra virgin olive oil on the top and baked again at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes.
These were so good by themselves but I dipped them in the pumpkin hummus (amazing) and also in some marinara sauce. However, the sky is the limit with these crostini’s you could serve them with any dip you like because they are fabulous!!! ( Also- I did not waste the rest of the bread, I put the pieces in a food processor and made breadcrumbs for meatballs) :)

I hope this post has inspired you to get ready and creative for fall with some cookie cutters in your kitchen!
