New Years Eve Treat – Chocolate & Caramel Popcorn Lollipops!

Well, it is almost the new year and boy did this year fly by fast! :)  I always like to throw a small get together on New Years Eve instead of fighting the madness and crowds of the city. This year instead of doing a fancy desert I decide to melt chocolate ( because I always do ) :) and add some crushed up caramel popcorn I got as a gift for Christmas and turn it into a easy desert. Here is what I did and what you need!

1-2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips ( depending on how may pops you need )

Caramel popcorn – any kind ( place in plastic bad and crush with the back of a spoon )

Paper straws – I got these at Target they had gold and black ( cut them in half )

Parchment paper – unbleached ( they have it at Target )

So easy, just melt the chips in a microwave safe bowl – 15 seconds at a time stirring until it is all melted – should take 3 times. Then place parchment paper on a baking sheet and with a teaspoon scoop up some melted chocolate and make a circle on the parchment paper . ( this does not have to be perfect ) Then immediately put the paper straw in the middle and turn it into the chocolate and top with a few pieces of the crushed popcorn. Do this for each one and then place the whole baking sheet in the refrigerator for a few hours to set. Then you take them out they will easily lift right off the paper and you can display them on a tray for the festivities!

I hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Years from my family to yours!!!!
