In a large mixing bowl add the egg , cheese, herbs, grated onion, garlic, ketchup, nutmeg, breadcrumbs and some salt and pepper and mix well to combine - then add in the ground turkey and mix to combine but do not over mix
Then in a pan on medium high heat add olive oil and take about 1 tablespoon of the turkey mixture and roll it in your hands and carefully place the meatballs in the pan - turn them once while cooking to make sure all sides get a brown crust on them- do not cook them all the way- once both sides have browned your going to transfer them to the sauce
In a large pot on medium heat add in the marinara sauce ( 1 or 2 jars depending on how much sauce you like ) and 1 cup of chicken stock and start to warm up the sauce - then carefully add in the meatballs and continue to cook them in the sauce - I cover them and let them go about an hour or a few hours on low - bc I think the longer they cook the better they are - but they will be cooked through in about 25-30 minutes. Transfer them to serving bowl and enjoy!
I serve these with gluten free or whole grain pasta and they are amazing - hence the name :)
