Instructions
- First, add your canned whole tomatoes to a food processor or blender and blend until almost smooth.
- Then prep your ingredients ...chop your onion and garlic and get your basil ready and you can chop the basil but I like to tear it into pieces.
- Next, add your olive oil and chopped onion with a pinch of salt to large pan on low heat and cook for about 4 minutes and then add in the garlic and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Next, turn your heat up to medium and add in your pureed tomatoes, basil, pinch of sugar and some salt & pepper to taste. Then cook the sauce for 20 minutes stirring occasionaly.
- Next, add in one TBSP of butter and cook for another 10 minutes. . Also, check it at this point for seasoning to see if it needs more salt & pepper and also cook your pasta to package instructions... drain and set aside.
- Then add your cooked pasta to the sauce pan and mix well to coat all the pasta and then serve!
- I love to serve this with fresh basil and fresh grated parmesan cheese .....and lets be honest the fancy twirl plating always impresses! :)
- To plate like this add a spoonful of sauce to the bottom of the plate. Then get a large fork and spoon and twirl the pasta on the fork with the spoon underneath until you get the height you like and carefully transfer it to the plate!
- This recipe is a favorite of mine and my daughter Laila, we hope you love it as much as we do!
