Instructions
  1. First, add your canned whole tomatoes to a food processor or blender and blend until almost smooth.
  2. Then prep your ingredients ...chop your onion and garlic and get your basil ready and you can chop the basil but I like to tear it into pieces.
  3. Next, add your olive oil and chopped onion with a pinch of salt to large pan on low heat and cook for about 4 minutes and then add in the garlic and cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. Next, turn your heat up to medium and add in your pureed tomatoes, basil, pinch of sugar and some salt & pepper to taste. Then cook the sauce for 20 minutes stirring occasionaly.
  5. Next, add in one TBSP of butter and cook for another 10 minutes. . Also, check it at this point for seasoning to see if it needs more salt & pepper and also cook your pasta to package instructions... drain and set aside.
  6. Then add your cooked pasta to the sauce pan and mix well to coat all the pasta and then serve!
  7. I love to serve this with fresh basil and fresh grated parmesan cheese .....and lets be honest the fancy twirl plating always impresses! :)
  8. To plate like this add a spoonful of sauce to the bottom of the plate. Then get a large fork and spoon and twirl the pasta on the fork with the spoon underneath until you get the height you like and carefully transfer it to the plate!
  9. This recipe is a favorite of mine and my daughter Laila, we hope you love it as much as we do!
