Strawberry and Basil Popsicles!!!

This is a quick and delicious popsicle recipe for those hot summer days! It has been pretty hot in Nashville these past couple weeks and my daughter loves a sweet frozen treat to cool her down! While store bought popsicles are good and they have many healthier options these days – nothing is better then creating your own. :)

Here is what you need:

1 cup frozen strawberries- rinsed under cold water to thaw out a bit

1/2 cup distilled water

2 large basil leaves

1 teaspoon organic sugar

Popsicle molds ( I got these on Amazon.com )

Blender

In the blender add in the strawberries, water, basil leaves and blend until smooth. Last, add in the sugar and give it another blend to make sure its perfectly smooth and then fill the popsicle molds. Place popsicles in the freezer for a few hours and enjoy!

This makes 3 popsicles – I have one child so that’s all we needed :) but just double this recipe to make more.

I hope this post has inspired you to get into your kitchen this summer and create some new popsicle recipes! Please share with me what you came up with!!!
